Poway comes through

Last week I challenged the local businesses and organizations to get involved in the Poway Days Heritage Parade. Well, as usual, Powegians have stepped up to the plate and hit a home run!

I want to personally thank all the generous sponsors and volunteers who have helped revive the annual Poway Days Parade. Dedicated volunteers have unselfishly donated their time and talents and have produced a parade that is going knock your socks off.

We could not have done it without the financial support of the great businesses in our community. Pretty good, considering the parade was thought dead two months ago.

A special thanks to Wal-Mart for their generous donation of $5,000, which will make this year’s parade one to be remembered.

My last challenge is to have a big turnout to show your Poway Spirit. So grab your sunglasses, your chair, and your spot on Poway Road.
